Wise birds weaving meditation, personal and spiritual growth, creativity, women and environmental hope in Wellington

~ Wisebirds ~

Our true nature is the same as that of all Nature. Huge, wild, beautiful.

Our nature is also essentially the vast spaciousness, in which all things live.

We can awaken to the primordial wisdom within us, in every moment
of our life.

~ Wisebirds ~ explore creative ways of working towards a natural spirituality. Through group interaction and sharing, we apply the fruits of meditation in our daily life and relationships, and inspire and support each other. We weave together different activities to make a skilful practice, to find our wisdom in everything we do.

In Tibetan Buddhism, the two wings of the bird are wisdom and compassion. We need both to fly. Meditation is the main method for developing our wings. Training in compassion includes ‘personal growth’ - learning to love life, ourselves, and others - and all creatures.

The two wings grow together. The wiser we become, the more loving we are, and love leads to deeper wisdom. We uncover the best that we are. Wisdom and love are our natural state - already within us. We can live, love, have all our wildness, use anger constructively, be as big and beautiful as we truly are, do our work in the world, and contribute to making our world a healthier place. We can sing our song with all our heart.
